"This is a fiction book (just in case the title confuses anyone).
Angela feels she got roped into serving on the high school reunion committee. She's not thrilled about facing her classmates after a failed marriage and with a close-to-failing business. She and the other 3 women on the committee decide to try online dating to find dates for themselves for the upcoming reunion. Angela has a son, so she's upfront about that in her online profile. Given that she lives in a small community where everyone knows your business (a fact repeated several times in the book), I'm surprised at how many nibbles she receives (enough for almost 10 dates, apparently) from people that she doesn't know already.
In true romance genre fashion, Angela's Prince Charming is right in front of her all along. I will credit the author with providing valid reasons that the two don't get together right away though."

Angela Hudson doesn't even want to go to her reunion. Unlike the girl votes to be most successful, she feels like the least successful. Failed marriage. Failing business. And from the looks of it, her online dating isn't looking too successful either. At least she has a wonderful son.
Drew Scheffield is helping out his brother for the summer at his coffee shop. It's been a rough year and he needed to get away from New York City. From his past. A past he's so stuck in that he's afraid to step forward into the future.
Coffee shops can be interesting places for watching people. It's just a story, but it must have been a real hoot watching Angela meet her online dates for coffee. - Reluctantly, divorced mother Angela Hudson goes to the planning committee meeting for her tenth class reunion. The four women end up agreeing to date online until they meet someone special. Each of Angela’s dates turn out to be disaster, but the attendant at the coffee shop where she meets them is mighty interesting - except he’s a recent widower who’s still in love with his wife.
First of all, I didn’t understand why the principal called Angela to be on the planning committee for the reunion. Principals usually prefer that such events be skipped, because they’re more work for the school, and they don‘t get involved. The fact that Angela was divorced was handled very casually, as if it meant nothing. The novel is listed as Christian, although I can’t remember a thing Christian about it. The main characters don’t turn to God, but the book is clean. There was some head hopping, “thing†was used for “think,†and it ended at 88%. This meant the book was only 102 pages long. I felt it was a good beginning, a bare-bones story that could have used fleshing out to give it some depth. As it was, it seemed more like quick snippets as Angela’s ten dates come and quickly disappear. Often, each chapter is a different date. I gave it 3.5 stars, which rounded up to a four. - This is a standalone read with no cliffhanger but does have a HEA. It is a modern day story set in a small town. A young single mother and her 5 year old son are tryin to get their life on track after her husband divorces her and shows very little interest in his son. Her high school reunion is coming up and she is trying to overcome her current situation of no husband, a business that is failing and no date> She makes a pact with 3 friends to try on-line dating.
She has all her dates at the small coffee shop in town. The hero is helping his brother by running the coffee shop for him. She meets him after a disaster of a date. He is a good listener and she soon finds she is very attracted to him. However, he will be returning to his job in NYC at the end of summer. So she is trying to protect her heart from breaking again. Their journey to a happy ever after is a fun trip. It is a very entertain read and I t=enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it for a fun few weeks as she searches for a fellow. It is a cute story and would be a good read for any age group. There are no sex scenes.

I am a reader and this is just my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. - Of course I read this because the title of the book being so similar to the infamous "How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days" starring the lovely Kate Hudson. Even though it's not one of my all time favorite movies but rather, one I'd watch if it were the only thing on TV. Such is my feeling in this instance as well.
This was a very sweet, quick and clean romance about a grieving widower and a single mother. Two aspects I have come to adore in most love stories although both of those things didn't really work together to make this an exceptional read, as I'd hoped. I tend to fear the widow/widower story-line because I'm always nervous that not enough time has passed since the spouse died, making it awkward to form a romance. That sort of happened here with Drew having lost his wife recently. It was described as "a few months" which I don't feel was enough time for him to grieve seeing as how he was choking down tears through the majority of the book.
I loved the bond between Drew and Angela's son, Thad. They had a few cute moments sprinkled throughout. I would've liked a little bit more depth between Angela and Drew because it wrapped up fairly quickly once he had his epiphany. Something felt like it was missing despite my enjoyment of the story and how it ended. One of the things I was surprised to see missing from this book was some sort of interaction with the other characters in the series that this one is kicking off. Aside from the prologue there was no set-up for the next character as you tend to see with most books in a series. I honestly forgot their names until the sneak-peek in the back.
